Professional expertise and curriculum depth

The Oxherd Ledger programmes were developed by educators with direct backgrounds in investment management and financial planning — not by generalists who assembled material from existing sources. This means the curriculum engages with nuance rather than avoiding it.

  • Instructors with fifteen or more years of combined investment industry experience
  • Content reviewed annually against current Hong Kong market and regulatory context
  • Curriculum built from the ground up for midlife learners, not adapted from general financial literacy materials

Technology and data grounding

Every module uses documented historical datasets to show what different income sources have actually delivered across different market environments. This grounds expectations in evidence rather than optimistic projection.

  • Historical yield data across dividend equities, bonds, REITs, and cash in the Hong Kong and Asian market context
  • Real-terms analysis accounting for inflation and purchasing power over longer time horizons
  • Written exercises that use your own figures to test what income scenarios might realistically look like

Customer experience and support

We keep cohort sizes small enough that participants receive meaningful attention from the teaching team. Questions raised during the programme are addressed directly, not routed through automated systems.

  • Structured feedback sessions built into each programme at defined intervals
  • Direct access to the instructor for questions arising from weekly materials
  • Written exercise reviews returned with specific comments, not generic remarks

Value and transparent pricing

Course fees are stated clearly on the solutions page. There are no add-on costs, no premium tiers, and no pressure to purchase adjacent products or services. What you pay for is the programme as described.

  • HKD 1,580 – 3,120 depending on programme length and depth
  • All course materials included in the enrolment fee
  • No referral commissions — we are not compensated for pointing you to any product

Outcomes: what you leave with

The measure of a good financial education programme is not what you remember two weeks later — it's whether you think about your money differently because of it. Our written exercises are designed to make sure the ideas connect to your actual situation.

  • A written allocation exercise or long-horizon income plan that reflects your own figures
  • A clearer framework for evaluating income-generating investments on your own terms
  • Better questions to ask a licensed financial adviser when the time comes

How We Compare

Our approach versus typical alternatives

Area Typical financial education providers Oxherd Ledger
Audience focus General adult audiences or beginners of all ages Specifically designed for Hong Kong residents in midlife (40s and 50s)
Independence Often affiliated with financial product providers; content may reflect commercial relationships No product affiliations; course fees are the sole source of income
Local context Hong Kong-specific detail (MPF, local tax) typically a brief module or absent Hong Kong context is central throughout all three programmes
Exercises Generic worked examples using hypothetical figures Applied exercises using the participant's own numbers
Time horizon addressed Short-to-medium focus; rarely extends beyond five years Three to four decades of income planning addressed in the Long-Horizon programme
Tone Often uses urgency, fear of missing out, or optimistic projections Measured and respectful; honest about uncertainty and complexity

What Sets Us Apart

Distinctive features of the Oxherd Ledger programmes

The long-horizon programme is unusual

Very few investment education offerings address income planning across three or four decades. The Long-Horizon Income Planning Programme is ten weeks specifically because that time horizon requires sustained, careful thinking — not a weekend course.

Real-terms income analysis

We address inflation directly. An income plan that delivers HKD 20,000 per month today may deliver meaningfully less in real terms in fifteen years. We build that thinking into the curriculum from the Foundations course onward.

MPF integration as a core module

Rather than treating the Mandatory Provident Fund as a separate subject, we look at how it sits alongside other income sources across a full retirement timeline — a perspective that is rarely offered in general financial education.

Withdrawal discipline as a taught skill

The question of when to draw on investments and when to reinvest receives dedicated attention in the later programmes. This is a practical skill that most financial education leaves underdeveloped.
